Expect the Unexpected? What Employers Might/Should See in 2017 and Beyond from the Trump Administration

Please join the West Coast Chamber of Commerce and Lakeshore Human Resource Management Association at this upcoming seminar featuring guest speakers from our partner, Miller Johnson law firm.

We have been following not only President Trump's tweets but also his post nominations and policy statements which will likely impact labor and employment issues. From Andrew Puzder's withdrawal for the position at the US Department of Labor to Alexander Acosta's nomination to various changes to regulatory matters including:

  • The currently enjoined overtime regulations
  • Expected NLRB appointments and legal impacts
  • Protected concerted activity in non-union work environments
  • Union election rules
  • US Supreme Court appointments such as Neil Gorsuch and the impact on employment and labor issues
  • Joint employment relationships
  • Repeal of several President Obama Executive Orders
  • Possible shifting away of EEOC emphasis from protecting gender identity/transgender statues
  • The Affordable Care Act and what employers can expect next?
Gary Chamberlin, Jeff Fraser and Mary Bauman from Miller Johnson will collectively present on timely, critical and interesting employment and labor relations topics, in a humorous, lively and story-filled manner.
 

The event will be held from 8:00 am - 11:00 am at Hope College Maas Center. Registration will begin at 7:30 am and breakfast will be provided.
