The Lakeshore ATHENA Award is presented annually to recognize individuals who demonstrate excellence, creativity, and initiative in their business or profession, provide valuable service by contributing time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community, and actively assist women in realizing their full leadership potential.
The Lakeshore ATHENA Awards program is a collaboration of shoreline area communities - The Chamber of Grand Haven, Spring Lake, Ferrysburg; the Michigan West Coast Chamber of Commerce; and the Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce.
The program will be held on Tuesday, October 7, at Trillium Events (17246 Van Wagoner Rd, Spring Lake) from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. Tickets are $40 per person for Chamber members, $50 per person for non-members or $390 per corporate table of eight.
Jeanne Englehart, 2013 ATHENA Award Recipient, will be the keynote speaker. Jeanne has an extensive history as a business owner and entrepreneur serving seven years as CEO/President of the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce. Prior to the Chamber, Jeanne served as Community Services Director for Congressman Vernon J. Ehlers. She was selected five times as one of the 50 Most Influential Women in West Michigan and holds leadership positions in many local and national organizations, including a gubernatorial appointment to the State of Michigan Early Childhood Investment Corporation.
