The key components of Health Care Reform take effect in 2014. In this seminar, Mary Bauman, attorney at Miller Johnson in Grand Rapids, will cover the new requirements to help employers prepare.
She will primarily focus on the employer pay or play penalty. She'll assist employers to determine if they are a large employer subject to the penalty and for large employers will also sort out which employees should be considered full-time for this purpose.
Mary will review the new safe harbor measurement periods and stability periods for determining whether newly-hired variable hour and seasonal employees and ongoing employees are full-time. Also discussed will be the rules to determine whether your health plan is affordable for purposes of the penalty and potential options to minimize your liability under the pay or play penalty.
Also covered in this seminar: > A summary of required changes to employer health plans. > An explanation of required participant notices. > A description of the new taxes and fees. > A run-down of new employer reporting requirements.
