Small Business Awards Celebration

Join us as we celebrate our two Small Business Administration (SBA) Michigan Small Business Award Winners, Doug Hekman of Quincy Street, Inc. and Helen Zeerip of Teddy's Transport.  Gerald Moore, District Director of the SBA, will be our special guest and will recognize the award recipients.

Doug Hekman has been named the 2013 Michigan Small Business Person of the Year.  Quincy Street, Inc. is a pork processor and seller that has been in business since 1994.  Hekman has led the company to double-digit growth in each of the past five years.

Hekman is the 5th state winner in the last 10 years from the West Coast Chamber.  He was nominated by the Chamber after being awarded their Small Business Person of the Year in October of 2012.

Teddy's Transport has been named the 2013 Michigan Family-Owned Business of the Year.  Teddy's is a second generation family trucking business started in 1982.  Inc. Magazine named it one of the 5,000 fastest-growing, privately-held companies in the country last year.
