Community Project - Holland Civic Theatre
Thank you to those who attended the West Coast Leadership Alumni Community Project planning event held on May 30. For those of you who were unable to attend, here is a recap of what was discussed at the event and the next steps.
The Class of 2018 presented their two project ideas to the event participants, voting occurred and the Holland Civic Theatre was selected! The project will consist of mostly cosmetic upgrades to the exterior of the building, with hopes that we can grow the project to allow for additional awareness opportunities.
The first step is to meet with the Holland Civic Theatre Board of Directors to get a clear picture of their needs, then Lakewood Construction will perform an assessment of the construction elements and prepare recommendations that will be shared at the next alumni meeting. There is a great deal of opportunity for this project to benefit a diverse cross section of our community and we're excited at the possibilities that this offers. With all of the beautification going on in downtown Holland, this will be a great addition to our thriving community.
The next Alumni meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 20 from 3-4:30pm at the Chamber. At this upcoming meeting, committees will be solidified, the construction assessment details will be shared and the next steps will be outlined.
